About Dr. Ghattas
Born in Marietta, Georgia, Dr. Ghattas grew up on a lake surrounded by acres of woods. His family is from Alexandria, Egypt which makes him a first-generation American, much like many of his colleagues. James went to high school and swam competitively for US Swimming in Fort Lauderdale, Florida before getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. There he sang and played guitar for several bands, including a Red Hot Chili Peppers cover band. He spent a year researching Botulinum Toxin for the treatment of post-stroke spasticity before getting his Medical Degree at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then joined the University of South Florida where he completed his Residency and Board Certification in Adult Neurology. He is currently pursuing his subspecialty training in Interventional Pain Management with an emphasis on Regenerative Orthobiologics.
